| Abstract | 'Are real dithyrambs all poems which the Alexandrian scholars classified as dithyrambs in their Bacchylides’ edition? and which is the position of Bacchylides' dithyrambs in the evolution of the genre?'. L'analisi dei fondamentali aspetti formali dei ditirambi bacchilidei (epiteti poco innovativi ma abbastanza frequenti; stile solo in parte vicino alla λέξις διθυραμβική), il loro confronto da una parte con i frammenti pindarici (minore carattere dionisiaco, evidente soprattutto nella mancanza di invocazione proemiale al dio), dall'altra con le testimonianze sulle innovazioni introdotte nel genere da Laso di Ermione (maggior aderenza alle sequenze metriche tradizionali: cfr. anche Dion. Hal. comp. 19,2), spiegano i dubbi di alcuni studiosi moderni sull'appartenenza dei componimenti al genere ditirambico, e consentono di inserire la produzione bacchilidea a metà fra la tradizione ditirambica arcaica e le sperimentazioni di Laso e Aristosseno.
