Appointment of MOISA Bibliographer

It was moved by Andrew Barker, seconded by Eleonora Rocconi, and passed unanimously by the Executive Committee:

THAT  Maggi Creese be appointed MOISA bibliographer and charged
(a) to prepare the existing 2000–2005 De Musicis bibliographies for  entry into the MOISA online bibliography module,
(b) to prepare new bibliographies for the years 2006–2009 for  uploading to the MOISA website,
(c) to upload the data to the website, and
(d) to test the site to ensure that the entries appear in the  appropriate form and that all the search functions operate correctly.

THAT on all programming issues connected with these processes she is  to consult with Geoff Piersol.

THAT the appointment be for an initial period of four months, from  23 November 2009 to 23 March 2010.

THAT the payment for this period be 1200 euros.
and
THAT after this period the appointment be renewable at the  discretion of the Executive Committee, in a motion incorporating a  new description of the tasks involved.

Explanatory note:

  • Dr. Creese is a Classicist (PhD St Andrews, UK) who resides in Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • In deciding payment the Executive Committee considered current  practices at Italian academic institutions and consulted with  officials at ITER,  an online bibliographical project based at the  University of Toronto in Canada. In the end it was guided by  Canadian practices on the ground that Dr. Creese lives in Canada.
